About Me

I am currently a 3D artist, specializing in asset creation for virtual reality. I have been working for the virtual reality start up Spatialand since March 2017. My role at Spatialand is to model, texture, and animate 3D assets that can be implemented into the VR pipeline. I mainly work in Maya, zBrush, Substance, and Unity.

A Change in Direction

I was born in Waterloo, IA, and I grew up in Reno, NV. As my final semester of high school came to an end I began working in construction at a door shop. Outside of work I spent a lot of my time drawing in my sketchbook.

I decided to enroll in the graphic design program at Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) in Reno, Nevada. It was in the graphic design program that I realized I really wanted to get more involved in animation. TMCC offered one animation course taught by Prof. Brian Wells, MFA. One animation course was not enough for two of my peers and I, so we approached Wells about making the second animated commercial for TMCC and he agreed to help us accomplish our goal. Our objective was to make a commercial that promoted the various renewable energy workforce development programs offered by TMCC. After one year of working on the commercial outside of our regular courses, it was finaly published, and I got to see our work on TV. It was in that moment that I knew I needed to pursue animation further.

The need to further my education in animation led me to Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California, where I discovered Maya and the door to 3D opened for me. Now I'm riding the wave that is virtual reality!

Let's Work Together!

I am currently booked, but feel free to email me if you have any questions about 3D or virtual reality and I'll be happy to talk 3D. I hope you have a look at my demo reel and thank you so much for visiting!
